Clothing Collective is a UK charity working to improve access to clean, quality clothing for people who need it most.
Founded in June 2018 by our CEO, Antony Wroe, the charity grew from a simple idea: people should not have to go without suitable clothing when good-quality clothes are already available. Simply handing out donated items is not always the right answer, because people need clothes that fit, suit their circumstances and meet their individual requirements.
An estimated 5.5 million people in the UK experience clothing poverty, yet the issue is often overlooked.
We partner with charity shops that accept our gift cards in exchange for clothing from their stores. We also work with food banks, shelters and other support organisations, which distribute the gift cards to people who need them.
This approach allows people to choose suitable clothing for themselves with dignity and independence. It also helps our distributing partners provide additional practical support, generates income for the good causes supported by our charity shop partners and keeps more clothing in use.
