Scimitar Sports & Donate Clothes: A Green Venture

Championing Sustainability: Donate Clothes UK & Scimitar Sports Join Forces

We are absolutely thrilled to share an update on an exhilarating partnership that we, at Donate Clothes UK, have embarked on.

Our new collaborator in our environmental cause is none other than Scimitar Sports, a leading custom sportswear manufacturer. The crux of this association lies in our shared commitment to environmental sustainability, and we’re buzzing with excitement to share all the details with you.

A Green Strategy: Reducing Sportswear Wastage

The primary objective of this exclusive partnership is to reduce wastage of sportswear that is no longer in use.

We, at Donate Clothes, take pride in being an integral part of this journey towards sustainable practices.

The mission we are working towards is a bold one, yet achievable – to reduce landfill wastage of custom sportswear produced by Scimitar by 90%!

Towards Eco-Responsibility: The Initiative Explained

What does this entail, you might ask? Well, as a part of our agreement, we are working meticulously with the Scimitar team to collect clothing that is either old or no longer required.

We directly liaise with Scimitar’s clients, offering them an avenue to contribute to environmental sustainability, free of charge.

Prolonging our Green Commitment:

Donate Clothes UK's Journey

This initiative is a step further in our ongoing endeavour at Donate Clothes UK, part of Your Donation Ltd, where we have been collecting pre-loved clothes to raise funds for British charities since 2011.

We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator, ensuring transparency and trust in our operations. The funds raised from the bulk sale of goods are distributed among a variety of good causes.

Significant Achievements:

Outcomes of the Partnership

So far, this partnership has successfully facilitated bulk pick-ups from nationwide charities and even managed to repurpose the Coventry City of Culture kit used in 2021. This has significantly aided companies and charities in achieving their sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets and goals.

The partnership between Donate Clothes and Scimitar Sports is a testament to our shared commitment to a sustainable future. It is more than just an agreement; it’s a journey towards making our world a better place, one piece of clothing at a time.

At Donate Clothes UK, we offer free home collection services. We are committed to reducing textile waste and supporting charitable causes through our donation programs. Questions and Answers

The primary objective of this partnership is to reduce wastage of sportswear that is no longer in use, aiming to reduce landfill wastage of custom sportswear produced by Scimitar by 90%.
Donate Clothes and Scimitar are working together to collect clothing that is old or no longer required. This is done through nationwide pickups, which offer flexibility on collection days and times. The collected clothes are then quality-checked, sorted, and prepped for their new journey, being exported to Europe, Asia, or Africa to ensure they don’t end up as landfill.
Scimitar Sports offers a repurposing solution to their clients to ensure that any unused or unneeded apparel is repurposed efficiently rather than simply thrown away. This service includes collection from the door of the client and/or their warehouse and is free of charge. They ensure contactless pick-ups and offer flexibility on collection days and times.
Donors can choose to support a British charity of their choice when donating their pre-loved items. Currently, they can choose to support Boot Out Breast Cancer and Troop Aid, but Donate Clothes UK is in the process of onboarding new partner charities.
