What clothes can you donate?

Donating Clothes Made Simple

Clean, dry and ready to be used again

We welcome clean, dry adults’ and children’s clothing in good condition, including baby clothes, underwear and swimwear. Paired shoes, handbags and belts are welcome too.

You can also donate household textiles such as sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, curtains and towels. Please leave out duvets, pillows and cushions, along with stained, damaged, wet or rag-quality clothing.

For other items, check our full list of what you can and cannot donate before packing. This includes the current rules for accessories, small household items and other donations.

How does a home clothes collection work?

You can arrange your collection online in a few steps. There is no need to wait for a collection bag to arrive through your door.

Choose a partner charity

Select one of our partner charities to benefit from your donation. The current choices are shown when you start booking.

1

Check your postcode and book a date

Enter your postcode to see whether we collect from your address, then choose one of the available dates. You can browse our collection areas first, but the postcode check confirms availability for your address.

2

Pack your clothes in bags or boxes

Use your own bags or boxes; black bin liners are fine. Keep each bag or box manageable for one driver to lift and carry. Clothes should be clean, dry and ready to be worn again. Washing them before donating is helpful, and they should be fully dry before you pack them.

3

Leave your donation ready for collection

Have your bags or boxes ready on your booked day. If you will be out, you can leave them outside your door or in a safe place. Tell us where to find them in the comments when booking, and keep them protected from rain.

We send an approximate collection time on the morning of your collection and confirm by email and SMS once your donation has been picked up.

4

Your chosen charity benefits

After collection, your items are checked, weighed and sorted. We pay your chosen charity £200 per tonne of clothing collected. On average, these charity payments represent around 82% of our profit.
